CemAir accquired regional carrier FlyTwenty60 in Jan2013. The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) effectively grounded CemAir after it temporarily withdrew Certificates of Airworthiness (CoA) for 12 of the carrier’s aircraft on 02Feb2018. In a statement issued on 24Feb2018, SACAA said has announced that effective immediately, it has reinstated its approval. Having rejected the airline’s Corrective Action Plan (CAP) leading to the suspension of its AOCs on 13Dec2018, CemAir secured a High Court order overturning an earlier South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) suspension of its Part 121 and Part 135 Air Operator’s Certificates (AOC). CemAir appears to have lost an appeal to overturn the grounding. CemAir said that it will shortly announce the resumption of scheduled passenger flights throughout South Africa after resecuring its lapsed AOCs. CemAir intend to resume scheduled passenger flight operations from 08Nov2019. The regional carrier’s CAR Part 121 and 135 Air Operator’s Certificates (AOC) were issued on 17Oct2019.
