BSAA (British South American Airways)

BSAA was renamed from BLAA (British Latin American Airlines)(formed on 25Jan1944). BSAA trialed non-stop flights from London to Bermuda using aerial refuelling over the Azores on 28May1947. Merged with BOAC on 30Jul1949
– [BEA was originally based at Northolt and took over the RAF transport wing. In 1947 took over several airlines after AAJC was ceased. (RAILWAY AIR SERVICE, GREAT WESTERN & SOUTHERN AIRLINES, ISLE OF MAN AIR SERVICES, SCOTTISH AIRWAYS, HIGHLAND AIRWAYS, NORTHEASTERN AIRWAYS, WEST COAST AIR SERVICES, AIR COMMERCE and WESTERN ISLE AIRWAYS). Later acquired CHANNEL ISLAND AIRWAYS and ALLIED AIRWAYS (same year)]
