♦ Moxy Airlines was the name of a planned scheduled carrier started by David Neeleman (JetBlue founder), founded in Jun2018 but Breeze is the actual new name. It intended to start in 3Q2020 using Embraer 195 aircraft but was changed until mid-2021. Breeze Aviation Group has notified the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) that its has dropped its intent to acquire the air operators certificate (AOC) of Compass Airways and instead, will request its own AOC and planned to launch operations in Mar2021. The carrier was granted a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on 10Mar2021, allowing the airline to start carrying passengers, freight and mail on up to 22 “large aircraft” within one year. Breeze Airways received its Part 121 Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on 14May2021 and started operations on 27May2021
