Avianca Honduras started operations on 28May2013 and operates under the former Islena Airlines operating certificate after being renamed. In 1998, Grupo TACA acquired a 20 percent stake in the company. In 2013 Isleña Airlines being part of Grupo TACA, was unified with the rest of TACA’s subsidiaries into Avianca, being renamed Avianca Honduras
