Air Vias was founded on 25/Dec/1993 as the first Brazilian airline dedicated exclusively to charter flights. Flights started in Jan1994. In Nov1995 Air Vias ceased operations and its assets taken over by VASP
[ – VASP was founded on 04/Nov/1933 by the State of Sao Paulo and operations began on 16/Apr/1934. In 1939, VASP bought Aerolloyd Iguassu. In 1962, NAB merged and in the same year, VASP became a national airline when it acquired Lóide Aéreo Nacional, and with it its license to operate nationwide. Threat of grounding by Brazilian CAA in 2004. Scheduled services suspended in early 2005 and by Dec2007, the once-proud company had stopped flying altogether
