
Swedewings was formed in 1985 and renamed to Swedewings Airways in 1989. Renamed again to Reguljair in 1999 and then to Nordic Airlink in 2000. Once again renamed, this time to Nordic Leisure in 2003 and then Nordic Airways in 2006 and then Air Sweden (ii) in 200, The carrier went inactive in 2012 and relaunched in 2013 as Nordic Air Sweden
[ – Nordic Air Sweden’s history begins in 2001 when Gunnar Olsson launched his airline Nordic Airlink to operate scheduled services. The airline’s launch route was Lulea to Stockholm in 2003. The scheduled services operation was sold to Finnair, leaving the company to continue charter and leasing activities under the Nordic Leisure brand in 2006. Rebranded to Nordic Airways and operated a mixed fleet of MD-83 aircraft and Saab 340. Nordic Airways was acquired and renamed to Air Sweden in 2010. Air Sweden had its AOC revoked on 10/Jan/2012 and was renamed again, to Nordic Air Sweden which acquired JE Time to get air operator certificate ]
[ – Air Sweden was re-launched under the same management in 2018 with a revised business plan and operating model from Nordic Air Sweden. Operations were planned to commence in Q1 2019 with a fleet of Airbus aircraft based in Europe to operate on behalf of tour operators and airlines. Air Sweden (iii) is now planning to resume flight operations during the first half of 2021 and is in the process of acquiring its AOC to accommodate both short and long haul aircraft ]
