
A.V. Air aka Anglo Vaal Air Services merged with Africair Servicing to become Africair in 1946. Both were subsidiaries of the General Mining and Finance Corporation Ltd, and managed the airline moving African personnel for the Witwatersrand Native Labour Association Ltd, known more generally as Wenela Air Services. Operations with 40- seat DC-3s and 104-seat DC-4s were carried out between various points in Rhodesia, Zambia and Bechuanaland and Francistown
