On 25/Mar/1932, all civil aviation activities were consolidated under the name of Grazhdansky Vozdushny Flot (Civil Air Fleet), known as Aeroflot. Renamed on 28/Jul/1992

[ – Aeroflot Russian Airlines was formed as Dobrolyot (Dobrolet) in 1923 but changed to Dobroflot after absorbing the Ukranian company Ukrvozdukhput. In 1932 all civil aviation activities were reorganised as Grazdansij Wozdusnyi Flot, simply known as AEROFLOT. Joined by POLAR AVIATION DIVISION in 1964. AEROFLOT was the largest airline in the world in 1989. Reorganised and renamed to AEROFLOT RUSSIAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES on 28/Jul/1992 and later dropped the ‘INTERNATIONAL’
