Aeroandina (i) was based at the now closed Aeropuerto Los Cerrillos, Aeroandina (Linea Aerea Andina Ltda). The airline was initially founded in 1979, and the leasing agreement of a Convair CV600 was signed with Air National Aircraft Sales (California) in December of that year. Operations commenced in Jan1980 with the Cv600 and served Concepcion, La Serena, Osorno and Temuco. The DC-9 was used on services to Antofagasta, Balmaceda, Calama, Concepcion and Puerto Montt. Shortly after LADECO increased services on the same routes using B.727-100. Unfortunately Aeroandina (i) suspended operations in Mar1981 and the DC.9 returned to Spantax. The airline did temporarily restart services with the CV600, however services ceased completely by Jul1981
