ABX AIR was formed in 1968 when AIRBORNE of CALIFORNIA and PACIFIC AIR FREIGHT of Seattle merged to form AIRBORNE FREIGHT CORPORATION. Name was changed on 01May1980 to AIRBORNE EXPRESS. Acquired MIDWEST AIR CHARTER and SKY COURIER in 1988. Renamed to current name in 2003 before it’s acquisition by DHL. Extensive overnight package service fron it’s hub in Wilmington, Ohio throughout the US and overseas
